The summer went by way too fast, and suddenly it’s time to pack those backpacks, find those pencils, and get ready for another school year! 📚✏️

Welcome back, D.A. Ferguson students! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer filled with sunshine, adventures, family, friends, and maybe even a little reading along the way.

The Learning Commons is ready for another great year! Whether you love getting lost in a good book, enjoy a little friendly competition, like creating and building, or just need a quiet place to work, there will be lots happening in the library this year.

📚 New Year, New Books, New Adventures!


One of the best things about a new school year is discovering something new to read. We’ll be adding new books to our collection throughout the year, so keep an eye out for new titles and recommendations.

Have a book you think we should add to the library? Let me know! I’m always open to suggestions and love hearing what students are interested in reading. You might just see your suggestion on our shelves!

Not sure what to read? Come and talk to me! I’m always happy to help you find a book that matches your interests—even if you think you’re “not a reader.” There is a book out there for everyone!

🎲 Clubs, Challenges & Fun

There will be lots of opportunities throughout the year to learn something new, try something different, and have some fun along the way.

Keep watching for information about library clubs, reading challenges, contests, special activities, and maybe a few surprises along the way! 👀

Whether you love a little friendly competition, enjoy creating and building, want to discover a new hobby, or simply like spending time in the Learning Commons, there will be something for you to explore.

🌟 A Fresh Start

A new school year is a chance to start fresh. Maybe you want to read more books, try a new club, make some new friends, challenge yourself, or simply find something at school that makes you smile.

Whatever your goals are this year, I hope the Learning Commons can be one of those places where you feel welcome, comfortable, and excited to explore.
